This Bird Chats Be-Kuziw Like Art (“Because-you” Like Art): Irene Kuziw

From time to time, one feels lonely soaring above all the action. But, if you are open, the opportunity to connect will present itself. And with connection, comes conversation.
Irene Kuziw has made her artful little nest at Proutopia from the get-go. She says she’d be a parrot if she were a bird. That’s about right since she’s often seen chatting at length to the Proutopians who are browsing and buying from her booth.

You’ll be drawn to Irene’s bower by her drawings, photography, books, pocketpals, cards, and giclees.

What is a “giclee” you say?
A giclée (“g-clay”), is a fine art digital printing process. It uses archival paper and pigment-based inks. The inkjet print is highly stable, light fast (doesn’t fade), crisp, and of superior archival quality. Irene’s giclées are fabulous and frequently funny ... this parrot likes to keep her tongue-in-beak.

A graduate of the University of Manitoba School of Art, Irene has been in demand for commissions of portraits and illustrations and she’s been exhibited in many art shows. Hers is the fine hand that has produced spirited pictures for several children’s books from Portage and Main Press including:

Amik Loves School
Kode’s Quest(ion)
Singing Sisters
The First Day
The Just Right Gift
Misaabe’s Stories
What Is Truth, Betsy?

Collectors also love her charming miniature drawings on stones. (Your trusted correspondent just visited her brother-in-law’s home where at least ten were lined up on the coffee table. It lists slightly to one side.)

There is always something full of spirit, story, laughter and light at Irene Kuziw’s booth.
Fly in and see for yourself - this parrot has lots to tell you.

Now craving a saltine,
